Common Data Fraud Methods
Phishing - Do not respond, follow a link or open an attachment provided in unsolicited mails. Always access the Kotak Life website by typing the correct URL https://insurance.kotak.com/
Vishing- Protect your account from miscreants who attempt to collect the policy holder credentials over phone calls. Don’t disclose your policy and personal details even when the caller claims to be your insurer’s representative
Smishing - Do not click on SMS messages received from unknown number/source containing website hyperlink as it may contain viruses that can affect your mobile phone device.
Avoid Public Computers or Free Wi-Fi - Do not use unsecured free Wi-Fi or public computer while accessing your policy details online as they are prone to risk.
Update Antivirus Software - Please use updated Anti-virus Software only on your computers/Laptops/Mobile devices.
Never share confidential details like Policy number, Policy expiry date, Date of Birth, KLI Login Credentials with anyone when you receive any unsolicited calls, SMS, IVR or email seeking for policy renewal, activation or payment of premium. This could lead to fraud as KLI official or representative will never ask for these details.
Never share your credentials (username and password) / OTP with anyone over phone, SMS or email Even your KLI official or representative will NEVER ask you for these details
